形態特徵

• A scandent shrub, young branches densely hairy; prickles few, less than 1 mm long, directed downwards.
• Leaves simple, chartaceous, ovate to ovate-oblong, 7–9 cm long, 6–7 cm broad, shallowly 3- or 5-lobed, the apex acuminate, the base cordate, the margin unevenly crenate, palmately 5-nerved at base, upper surface hirsute, especially on the nerves, lower surface densely yellowish-brown tomentose, the midrib and veins slightly impressed above, raised and prominent beneath; petioles 3–5 cm long; stipules 0.4–4.6 cm long, 3-lobed, deciduous.
• Inflorescence a short axillary raceme; calyx-tubes cupular, 5–6 mm across, densely woolly; sepals triangular-ovate, the apex acuminate to caudate, 6–8 mm long, inner ones narrower than outer ones, outer margins with 2–3 linear lobes, inner margins entire, outside shortly woolly; petals ovate, 5–6 mm long, 4–5 mm broad, acute at apex, narrowed at base.
